Creating a Seascape Wedding

A natural color palette was chosen for this elegant wedding by the ocean.

But even though it was elegant, Eddie and Ana wanted to incorporate some unique details like this sea-globe we created by hand (like a snow globe but with items from the sea). It was one of the many design and floral touches we created for their day working with planner Carolyn Chen of A Special Day.

When Carolyn and the couple came to us with the idea of seaside elegance we immediately thought of glass, water and candles. Here a tabletop sculpture of simple vases filled with water and either candles and sea strands displayed the peace and serenity of the ocean.

His boutenniere -- purple was an unexpected addition to the color palette of ivory and gold. It lent another layer of style to the floral pieces as well as the reception design.

A WEDDING SET TO STUN

Every detail about Anna and Eddie's wedding produced by Carolyn Chen of A Special Day at the beautiful Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, was set to stun, from a ceremony with a muted yet lush color palette of gold, cream and copper (more on this in our next blog) to a reception using the same colors but in a very different way.

Style Me Pretty called it "Gorgeous...a fairytale (from the budget to the style)." And Carolyn told the wedding web site's editors, "The style of the wedding was elegant, romantic, and opulent yet also relaxed which the location lent itself well to. We chose colors of light turquoise blue, creams and golds with accents of lavender and violet purple to exude style."

Against a backdrop of golden and amber color washed walls, our team of floral designers at Mille Fiori set the head table with a centerpiece of white floral, candles and glass that ran the length of the table. It was a look that was both romantic and ultra dramatic.



THE GUEST TABLES
A smaller composition was created for each guest table playing on the same themes of the head table. A splash of muted blue linen tops and bright violet napkins on all the tables was unexpected with the color palette and added a refreshing tonal contrast between the hot colors of the lighting design and icy white floral.

White + Black + Green

This unique color combination worked beautifully for a wedding held at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California. Wedding coordinator Carolyn Chen of The Special Day brought us in to create a floral design around this color palette.

We began with ALL-WHITE BOUQUETS for the bride and bridesmaids. A hint of GREEN RIBBON peeked out from the bouquet wrap and looked great whether it was held against the white of the bride's dress or the green dresses the bridesmaids wore.

Black and white linen provided by Wildflower Linens made a BOLD STATEMENT on the table and because there was a green runner accent, we chose to go with all-white flowers. But to add interest to the look, we used a variety of vases, filling each with a single type of flower.
